More on where are we

Located in scenic Guntersville, Alabama, we've been in business for 20 years. The town is surrounded by Lake Guntersville in North Alabama. 69,000 acres makes it the state's largest lake. Bass anglers from around the country recognize this lake as one of the best in the country.

So, whether you live nearby or are in town for a fishing tournament, to enjoy the views from the State Park Lodge or for any other number of reasons, we hope you'll stop and shop with us.

Our history

In 1997, Rita Hayes decided to turn her counted cross stitch hobby into a business in Guntersville, Alabama. She carried cross stitch and needlepoint and the accessories to accompany those two hobbys.

Since her passing in August 2013, her family made the decision to continue to run her business.

Frosty

Frosty was a teacup poodle and weighed in at almost 3-1/2 lb. He loved working at the shop and had been doing his job faithfully for over 9 years.

Frosty went home to heaven on Monday, November 9, 2015.

You could find him at the store on his working days; guarding, greeting, and just generally being a sweetie! He was almost 16 years old and had become blind and deaf, so he no longer heard the bell when you came in, but he still loved having your attention.

When it was quiet he would frequently retreat to his bed for a little rest.

What's Happening Now

Come by and meet her daughter Barbara and her good friend Iris who helped her out in the store for the last 9 years.

Lots of new additions are coming to Stitchers Haven.
  • Yarn & accessories for knitting and crocheting
  • Latch Hook Kits
  • College & high school cross stitch charts
  • Plus lots of new cross stitch charts, fabric & floss

Iris and Barbara go to Market every year and return with a car load of new products: fabric, charts, shiny thread, and all sorts of goodies. Their eyes were so tired from looking at all the wonderful stuff they decided to give them a little rest with these super sunglasses.
